Fiorentina – AC Milan Tips Free Betting Tips

A stunning 63-yard free kick from Cristiano Biraghi helped Fiorentina end their nearly two-month wait for a Serie A (SA) victory by beating Hellas Verona 3-0 last time out to secure their first league win since January 7. That result not only cemented their mid-table position with an 11-point gap on the relegation zone, but also represents only the third time Fiorentina have scored three or more goals in an SA clash this season.

With their path to European soccer next season likely needing them to retain the UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL) title, Fiorentina will want to continue their recent rise in form in all competitions when defending champions AC Milan come to town. However, with just one win in their last five SA home games (E2, P2) and ten defeats in 13 SA games against teams starting this round in the top half of the standings (E3), their chances of gaining confidence boosts ahead of Thursday’s UECL clash with Sivasspor are not very high.

A 2-0 win against Atalanta last Sunday in Stefano Pioli’s #800 game as coach secured a first run of three league wins ‘to nil’ after almost a year, and also put Milan behind bitter rivals Inter in the standings. That game also saw the return of Zlatan Ibrahimović, who after playing his first minutes since last May, said he could “keep playing for a few more years, not just next year.”
Milan could use his help here, as their 1-0 win at Monza in their last away league game was only their second away win in the league in 2023 (E1, P2) and, moreover, the Rossoneri side would like to avenge their 4-3 defeat at this venue last season. On a more positive note, however, Milan are unbeaten this season in away games against teams that started this round in the bottom half of the standings (G5, E3), and know that extending that streak with a win here would provisionally move them into second place ahead of the Inter game on Sunday.

Players to watch: Fiorentina’s Arthur Cabral has scored five goals in his last four competitive games and could now score in five in a row for the first time since his eight-game scoring streak while playing for Basel in 2021. In the absence of the suspended Rafael Leão, Milan can look to Junior Messias to step up, with his last four goals for the club serving as the last goals of the match.
Big Fact: Milan have won 12 of their 13 SA matches after opening the scoring (E1).
