Atalanta – Udinese Tips Free Betting Tips

Atalanta’s season has gone off the rails after a 2-0 loss to AC Milan last weekend condemned them to a fourth defeat in five official matches (G1), as many as they had lost in the previous 21. That poor run of form for Atalanta saw them eliminated from the Coppa Italia and lose ground in the race for Champions League qualification, with the strain now visible on coach Gian Piero Gasperini, who threw a sandwich at Milan fans after being goaded by a ‘never won anything’ taunt.

With a visit to leaders Napoli on the horizon, Atalanta will see this game as a realistic opportunity to pick up points and add to their tally of three wins in their last four home games (P1). The visit of Udinese should fuel the belief that they can do just that, as Atalanta have not lost a game against this team in SA since October 2017 (G7, E3).

The fact that Udinese are in the midst of a dismal run of just one win in 17 official matches (E9, P7) will further boost the home side’s morale. Disgruntled coach Andrea Sottil certainly didn’t enjoy their last 2-2 draw against Spezia, bursting out with the line that “we can’t waste games” after having an early lead in that match. It is a sign of their good start to the league campaign that they are still in the race to finish inside the top seven, and the more optimistic Udinese fans may even tell you that they still have a remote chance of qualifying for Europe!
However, those lofty ambitions are likely to fail as a result of Udinese’s away form, having actually lost four of their last five official away games (G1). Visiting a place where their only win in the last 14 SA clashes between them (E7, P6) was in December 2016 certainly doesn’t help either, as Udinese look to find a cure for their away match illness.

Players to watch: Ademola Lookman, who scored Atalanta’s first goal in the season opener between them, has scored five of their last seven league goals at home. Roberto Pereyra may be looking forward to this clash, as he has directly contributed three goals (Goals 2, Assists 1) for Udinese in their last three league games against Atalanta.
Key Stat: Udinese have picked up a league-high 18 points this season after falling behind on the scoreboard at any point in a match.
