Everton made a great result in the last round, the Liverpool Blues beating Manchester United 1-0 at home thanks to Gordon’s 27th minute goal. This victory comes after defeats at West Ham (2-1) and Burnley (3-2), the team just below Everton in the standings, in the first relegation place.
On the other side, Leicester lost 2-1 at Newcastle in the last round and thus almost gave up the chance to get a European Cup place next season. The Foxes can however console themselves with the Conference League trophy after they eliminated PSV in the quarter-finals (0-0 in England and 1-2 in the Netherlands) and have to play the semi-final of the competition against AS Roma.
I honestly expected Leicester to be “crushed” by Newcastle and I have a feeling that it won’t be easy for them against Everton either. The Liverpool team has a high morale and I think they will get at least a draw against Leicester team that has shown a mediocre football this season. I will bet on an Under 2.5 scoreline though because I expect the match to be a boring one with few goals.
