ESL One Germany – Tips and favourites

eSports betting tips – The hot phase is now entering one of the biggest DOTA tournaments of this year, fans can look forward to evening more games at a high level when the ESL One Germany 2020 makes it into the playoffs. The group stage took place from October 5th to October 20th, the first playoff games will take place on Friday, October 23rd. From 16 teams there are now only eight left and in the usual tournament format, it is now towards the Grand Final, which will take place on November 1st.

Our predictions for the group stage have almost completely come true, as we expected, Team Secret and Alliance secured their places for the playoffs in the third round of the group stage. Secret could win every series with 2-0. In round 4, OG, Team Liquid and Team Mudgolems, which we run as secret favourites, also secured their playoff spots. The final decisions were made in Round 5, when the final three teams, Team Nigma, Natus Vincere and Vikin.gg, qualified for the finals.

Quarter-finals predictions

ESL One Germany 2020 offers exciting quarter-finals between the top teams in Europe and the CIS region, here are our predictions for the first four playoff games:

Team Secret vs Team Nigma Free Betting Tips by CoreBet Tipsters

Date: October 23

Team Secret was without a doubt the best team of 2020. And their lead over the rest of the professional DOTA scene is enormous. Puppey and his squad have won no fewer than eight trophies this year, and in all likelihood, they will take home their ninth title at the event. In our opinion, there is no team that can stop them, with perhaps one exception: Alliance. Gustav “s4” Magnusson’s team is also light years behind Secret in terms of team coordination and understanding the current meta.

Team Nigma plays at this tournament without its captain KuroKy and this also affects the performance, the team was already close to being eliminated in the group phase of ESL One Germany 2020. With a win in the last game, they finally made it to the finals of the tournament with a 3-2 record. But even in the decisive game they had to admit defeat 5men in the first match, but then managed to make a comeback and win the next two games.

When you compare these two teams, it becomes clear that Team Secret has all the advantages on its side. So we expect that they not only win this series against Nigma, but that they can do it without losing a single game. Secret has the necessary momentum and have shown dominant performances not only in this tournament but throughout the year. But that doesn’t change our prediction that Nigma will take one of the top spots in this tournament. Even if they lose to Secret, nigma have shown a certain tendency to move back to the top from the lower bracket.

Betting Tips: 2-0 win Team Secret
Odds: 1.53

Team Liquid vs Mudgolems Free Betting Tips by CoreBet Tipsters

Date: October 24

These two teams met in this tournament in the first round of the group stage. Liquid won this game 2-0 and then had a great run. Only Secret managed to beat them in the group stage. In their games against Na’Vi and 5men, the Liquid players showed a dominant performance. Based on these results, it can be assumed that Liquid will also be the favourite in this series against Mudgolems.
Even if Mudgolems have two enormously experienced players in their ranks with the German DOTA veteran Adrian “FATA” Trinks and his long-time teammate Neta “33” Shapira, the rest of the squad lacks the experience and, to be honest, the class too to survive against the absolute best in the world. They usually shine against weaker opponents, but when it comes to the big teams, they regularly have problems getting their style of play to roll.

It will not be an easy game for Team Liquid and we think that Mudgolems can definitely decide a game for themselves, but in the end, Team Liquid should prevail and delegate FATA and his colleagues to the lower bracket.

Betting Tips: Victory Team Liquid
Odds: 1.53

OG vs. Natus Vincere Free Betting Tips by CoreBet Tipsters

Date: October 23

OG completed a relatively relaxed group stage at ESL One Germany 2020, but their results are not exactly meant for the playoff games. The opponents they faced were comparatively weak, the only exception being their game against Alliance, and here they lost 2-1. The other three teams they played against were Winstrike, Vikin.gg, and YellowSubmarine. Vikin.gg was the biggest challenge here, while the other two teams are extremely weak for this level of competition.

Natus Vincere had a tougher time in the group stage and took five games to qualify. Like OG, Na’Vi also lost against the better teams (Liquid and Mudgolems) and could only win against the weak. That makes it pretty hard to predict which of the two teams will win this game. The last time they met, Na’Vi won the game, but the CIS team has shown clear signs of weakness since the beginning of this tournament.

OG is not part of the line-up of the two-time TI winners, but the team has to be considered one of the strongest in the tournament and we think they will just win their quarter-final against Natus Vincere.

Betting Tips: Victory OG
Odds: 1.57

Vikin.gg vs Alliance Free Betting Tips by CoreBet Tipsters

Date: October 24

Besides Team Secret, Alliance is the only team that made it through the group stage without a defeat, and in contrast to Secret, who had a comparatively easy draw, they were able to beat top teams like NiP and OG at this tournament. So we don’t expect them to lose to a much weaker opponent. Alliance star Nikolay “Nikobaby” Nikolov and the rest of his team are clearly in great shape and will likely make it to the podium at this tournament.
Vikin.gg have what it takes to win a game against Alliance, but in a best-of-3 series like this quarter-final game, everything speaks for a victory for Alliance.

Betting Tips: Victory Alliance
Odds: 1.36
